As technology grows it has a lasting impact on the way people live and communicate. The increasingly evident changes technology has made on society can also be considered changes society and culture has made on technology. There is no definite way of knowing which was affected first, however, it is evident that there is an impact.
Technology has affected society and culture since the very first invention. Humans have grown around the technology in the world; we have grown to rely on it as a way to survive in our cultures and daily lives. However, there is an argument that technology doesn’t affect culture, but culture affects technology. As society grows, many believe that our needs are what cultivate the new ideas for technology and its everlasting growth.
Social growth, mainly in children, is often times stunted due to the increasing use of technology. As people become more intuned with their technology, they become less inclined to start conversations or speak with other people. For instance, the use of cellphones on a date causes a distinct lack of communication. There are, however, positive effects on social communication as well. For example, websites, such as ABCmouse.com, focus on teaching children skills earlier in life. Technology has changed communication and technology, through good and bad ways.
Technology has made lasting impacts on today's society. These impacts affect the culture, language, and our thought processing, especially children's.
